After 25 fulfilling years, the Vans Warped Tour will make its final cross-country trip in 2018, bringing an end to one of the longest and successful festivals in the rock genre scene.
Kevin Lynman, the producer and creator of the festival, went on twitter to make the announcement: “Today, with many mixed feelings, I am here to announce that next year will be the final, full cross-country run of the Vans Warped Tour.” He also discussed the dates of the tour, stating that the first date will be July 21, 2018 at the Pomona Fairplex.
Lynman then proceeded to express his nostalgia about finally ending one of his most successful platforms, for the scene of hardcore and pop-punk: “Though the tour and the world has changed since ’95, the same feeling of having the ‘best summer ever’ will live on through the bands, the production teams, and the fans that come through at every stop.”
The Vans Warped Tour, is a festival usually attended by 14-19 year olds that promotes both pioneers and coming of age artists from all types of genres. The lineup is predominantly punk, pop rock, and hardcore, with an exception of rap artists and EDM music.
The website of the official Vans Warped Tour recently released dates for the upcoming 2018 Tour. Kevin Lynman, has also planned small anniversary celebrations in regions such as Mexico and places that are not usually toured in.
The 25th Annual Vans Warped Tour will begin on June 21, 2018, at the Pomona Fairplex and will travel throughout the United States up until August 5, 2018 in West Palm Beach, Florida. Tickets range from $40-$50, making the promise of a fun summer day absolute.
