Twenty-six year-old Devin Patrick Kelley, revealed himself as an alleged gunman as he caused a mass shooting at the First Baptist Church, in rural Sutherland Springs, Texas, on November 5th, 2017.

After twenty-six were killed, the shooter attempted to escape from the scene but failed by losing control of his car and running it off the road.

According to the Air Force, the gunman has already been accused of abusing his own spouse and child with two charges as he was court-martialed in 2012. He was part of the Air Force from 2010 until 2014.

Ex-Wife of Kelley, Tessa Brennaman, 25, reportedly announced how much of a nice, sweet, and funny guy he was when they first met in 2011, but admits that she was extremely affected by the frightening actions done by him. She believed, “He just had a lot of demons or hatred inside of him.”
Brennaman, then shared her horrifying moments with Kelley and stated, “There would be times where I would be on the floor curled up and having to protect my organs because he would be violently kicking me on my side.”

Despite the horror, Brennaman said, “She never thought he would carry out a mass shooting that would leave dozens of innocent people dead.”

One week after the terrifying massacre, the Texas church turned into a memorial and opened its doors on a Sunday evening. The church was covered in white paint and emptied out. The only things placed in the church afterwards were twenty-six chairs, with a red rose on each chair, representing the souls of those victims who lost their lives during the shooting. One of the chairs in specific had a single pink rose to honorably represent the unborn child who died. Mother of baby, Crystal Holcombe, was two months pregnant when she was killed.
