Over the years, Marvel has built a franchise with Sony including the characters such as the X-Men, who are a group of mutants with superhuman abilities struggling to find coexistence with humans. Marvel has decided to reboot the characters in their newest upcoming horror film titled New Mutants.

Fans have given lost of positive feedback, and are excited to see the movie in theaters, only problem is that it has been delayed.

Having the new movie release date moved back is quite shocking. The sudden delay jumped from April 13th, 2018, to February 22nd, 2019.

According to the Tracking Board’s Jeff Sneider, the New Mutants is undergoing test screenings, with adequate results. Sneider explained: “Word on the street is that after the film tested well but not great, the studio decided to actually embrace the film’s horror elements and beef up the scares in the wake of the success of It and Get Out.”

A theory that might have caused the delay of The New Mutants is that Marvel Entertainment hopes to avoid the competition of Deadpool 2 (2018).

The New Mutants is currently in post production, and is set to hit theaters in February 2019.
