Mixed reactions and countless arguments have ensued within the public as U.S President Donald Trump was suspected of calling Haiti, El Salvador, and other African nations “s-hole” countries.

This happened during a meeting on Thursday with a bipartisan group of senators at the White House. They were discussing the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy versus new immigration policies.

A Democratic aide briefed on Thursdays meeting told NBC news, that the President, in heated frustration, made a vulgar comment stating, “Why do we have more Haitians in the country? Take them out!” He called nations in africa s-hole countries, and said he welcomed people from Norway to the U.S.

The White House, did not deny the offensive comments made by the president during the meeting. However, the representatives did release a statement saying,”Certain Washington politicians choose to fight for foreign countries, but President Trump will always fight for the American people.”

The controversial remark has caused widespread conflicts within the media and across the globe.
The African Union, a group representing the continent’s countries, has also condemned the presidents remark, demanding him to retract his statement. They asked him to apologize, not just to all African nations, but also to those of African descent around the globe.

On Friday morning, the President denied the remarks that he was accused of saying during the meeting. In a “tweet” he wrote, “The language used by me at the DACA meeting was tough, but this was not the language I used.”

Regardless of his words, both political parties are still far from a decision regarding DACA. Democrats are in favor of DACA which protects 800,000 undocumented minors or “dreamers”. However, the Republicans, as well as the President, prefer a merit-based immigration policy that will only allow people who can contribute, and benefit the country economically.
