In the month of May, Netflix is introducing two new original films, Wine Country and The Perfection, and three new seasons of their original shows, When They See Us, She’s Gotta Have It and Terrace House.

Wine Country is a film for mothers by mothers. The movie is about a group of longtime friends reuniting in Napa to celebrate a 50th birthday. Thankfully, the film is also reuniting SNL alums, Rachel Dratch, Ana Gasteyer, Maya Rudolph, and Tina Fey.

The Perfection is a dark, twisted thriller that had previously premiered at the Fantastic Fest back in September 2018. In The Perfection, Allison Williams is cello prodigy that goes back home to aid her ill mother. Although, as audiences will find out, Williams’ character’s devotion towards musical perfection, takes a completely sinister turn.

When They See Us, Netflix’s first big limited series, is based on the true story of The Central Park Five jogger case. The controversial case wrongfully convicted five young, black teenagers of raping a young woman. The series tackles the bias towards black people in the United States’ legal system that is still relevant today.

She’s Gotta Have It is a television series based off of Spike Lee’s 1986 film of the same name. Illustrating the life of the aspiring, Brooklyn artist, Nola Darling, the series shows her struggles to split time between her friends, her job, her lovers, and ultimately her dreams.

Terrace House, the Japanese phenomena, is adding another installment of its over-growing reality series. For this season, Terrace House will showcase the lives of six new strangers as they live under the same roof getting to know each other.

Wine Country will be premiering on May 10th, She’s Gotta Have It on May 24th along with The Perfection, When They See Us on May 31st, and Terrance House on a date to be determined.
