Last month, Nogales lost against Walnut on September 13, 2019 the Nogales Varsity Football team lost to Walnut High School in a very intense game, the Walnut Mustangs managed to win with a score of 40-0. By the first quarter, the Mustangs were up by a field goal, 2 points.

By the second quarter the Mustangs had made three touchdowns which led them to a score of 26-0. Jacob Quinones stated the team needs to practice more to overcome their loss,“Us Nobles need to work on our defense.”

By the third quarter, the Noble defense had worked together to stop the Mustangs from scoring. Throughout that quarter, the Nobles were 6 yards away from making a touchdown, but the Mustangs’ defense stopped them. By then, the crowd was extremely engaged and faithful that the Nobles would stop them from gaining points.

The fourth quarter arrived and that is when the game had just started to intensify.  The Walnut Mustangs scored 2 more touchdowns and the Nogales Nobles stood with a score of 0. The game ended and the final score of 40-0. The noble fans were quite disappointed but they all knew the Nobles would take this as encouragement to be more prepared for the next game. Coach Esquir, freshman football coach explained “They have to stick together and keep their heads up because league is on its way and they still have the possibility to succeed.”

Halftime came and the score was still 26-0 but the fans nevertheless had hope on the Nobles to make an amazing comeback. During the halftime show the crowd was pleased as the Noble regiment performed wonderfully as usual.

The next home game will be October 25 against Gladstone.
