Highly Anticipated Second Season of The Umbrella Academy

The highly anticipated second season of Netflix’s Original series, The Umbrella Academy, was finally released on July 31, 2020 as a follow up to a thrilling first season. Instantly, the show climbed the ranks of Netflix’s Top 10 list landing at No. 1, where it sat for two weeks straight, becoming only the third show, to pull this off in Netflix history

Picking up from the season one finale, the protagonists find themselves in an alley in Dallas, Texas scattered across the 1960’s, after Five, Aidan Gallagher, time traveled himself and his siblings to escape the apocalypse. 

This time the Hargreeves siblings, Luther (Tom Hopper), Diego (David Castañeda), Allison (Emmy Raver-Lampman), Klaus (Robert Sheehan), Vanya (Ellen Page), Ben (Justin H. Min) and Five reunite to stop the apocalypse from happening in the future. 

Given a 90% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, critics and fans alike loved this new season.

In this 10 episode story, the season is like a roller coaster, loaded with captivating, humorous and emotional moments which immerse and engage the audience. Fellow Noble, Alexis Osorio said, “Season 2 was great, the story was well developed and written with great character development.” 

Gallagher told Entertainment, “Season 2 is a continuation of that week long journey to save the world and [Five’s] family”, implying that his character has had the most development. 

Spoiler Alert:  The final episode was a plot twist ending in a cliffhanger, hinting at the possibility of a civil battle inside the academy and the origin story of how the 43 kids were all born with superpowers at the exact same time.
