How Movies are affected during the pandemic

Many movie release dates are to be pushed back due to the ongoing Coivd-19 pandemic.

The coronavirus and social distancing orders have postponed several blockbuster films which will be coming to theaters next year including A Quiet Place II, Escape Room 2, Fast & Furious 9 and Black Widow.

A Quiet Place II is the continuation of A Quiet Place, in which the Abbott family now must find a new way to survive the monsters that roam around and respond only to sound. It is set to premiere in theaters on March 8th, 2020 but was changed to April 23, 2021.

Antlers, a new horror film about a murderous creature in a small town, will now be released in February 2021.

Escape Room 2, the sequel to Escape Room, was moved from August 2020 to January the following year.

Both Black Widow, which tells the story of her origins and Fast & Furious 9, which is about Dominic Toretto who is joined by his team to go up against skilled assassins, were originally set to be released May 2020, but have been unfortunately pushed back to next year as well.

Raul Hernandez, a junior at Nogales is upset about the delayed motion picture releases: “It’s unfortunate that the pandemic delayed Fast & Furious 9. I was excited to see it with my friends but with the virus out it was for the best to delay.”

In Cnet’s article on COVID-19, the closure of movie theaters is due to “The health and well-being of people around the world [which] remains the most important thing.”

The pandemic delayed many activities this year, but now people have some awesome movies from thrillers to action flicks to look forward to after Coronavirus is under control.
