On October 7, 2020, Netflix released the new Fantasy/Mystery movie Hubie Halloween starring many popular actors such as Adam Sandler, Rob Schneider, Kevin James, Shaquille O’Neal, Noah Schnapp, Peyton List, China Anne McClain and Karan Brar. This article will contain spoilers, so please read with caution.

As one of the producers of Hubie Halloween, Adam Sandler explains that he and Allen Covert, the other creator, wanted to make a movie that would become a part of the Halloween tradition.

“We kept saying we wanted to do a Halloween movie. I remember when I was a kid and Charlie Brown did a Halloween special…So we kinda wanted to make a movie that you know, hopefully, every year they go, ‘Oh yeah, let’s watch Hubie Halloween and get into the spirit,” stated Sandler.

The movie’s message is that sometimes, bullies can be the scariest monsters of them all. Adam Sandler plays the role of “Hubie Dubois,” a character despised by everyone in the film. Hubie’s most important day of the year is Halloween, and his goal is to keep everyone safe from a wandering escapee from a nearby mental institution who wears a pig mask.

As he wanders the streets, there is not a time where he was not picked on or has something thrown at him by his neighbors. However, there is a connection between him and “Violet Valentine,” played by Julie Bowen, which increases when Hubie and Violet’s foster kids cross paths at a high school dance that night.

SPOILER ALERT: Some of the people who bullied Hubie the most are reportedly abducted, arousing suspicion. Hubie tries to get the attention of the authorities, but is ignored, so he takes it upon himself to continue the investigation.

SPOILER ALERT: After the disappearance of yet another one of Hubie’s former bullies, the police finally acknowledge that something is going on and decide to help him.

For a fun and silly time, watch Hubie Halloween on Netflix to find out who the Halloween Abductor really is.
