USA cruises past Argentina in Women’s Soccer She Believes Cup

On February 24, 2021, the United States women’s national soccer team played in Exploria stadium in Orlando, Florida against Argentina. A victory in this match would secure the 2021 She Believes Cup title for the American squad.

The 4 time world cup champion, 4 time olympic gold medalist and 8 time gold cup winner team set off to play Argentina in the final match of the tournament. It was a tough situation particularly because of the pandemic.

In the end, the women’s national team defeated Argentina with a commanding 6-0 final score. Megan Rapinoe was the first to strike the net in the 16th and 26th minute of the match. Carli Lloyd, Kristen Mewis, Alex Morgan and Christen Press would score the next four goals, in an overall display of dominance.

The United States was in top form, generating 27 shots, completing 547 passes with a 84% pass accuracy, committing 6 fouls, 0 yellow cards, 5 offsides, 7 corners and a 69% possession of the ball.   

The game ended with a strong victory for the USA and the She Believes Cup title. Megan Rapinoe was voted as the player of the match for her strong performance.
