Breast Cancer Awareness Door Contest

Breast Cancer Awareness Door Contest

Erik Lopez, Senior

Nogales High School had a Breast Cancer Awareness Door Contest spearheaded by ASB. Teachers and students decorated posters to hang up on their classroom doors.

English teacher, Mrs. Corp, said, “Anytime we as a school can come together to spread awareness about breast cancer or other illnesses our community experiences, it is something our students should embrace and feel empowered by.”

ASB looked for creativity and dedication. The contest allows teachers and students to work together as a team to make something beautiful. Nogales as a community wants to spread motivation and awareness to those who suffer from breast cancer or have family or friends who do.

Mrs. McGee, athletic trainer and teacher said, “The door contest is a great way to raise awareness about breast cancer and how it affects people and their families.”

Miss Solano’s 4th period won the competition with a beautiful painted tree and pink ribbons as leaves. Butterflies popped off the door, adding to the overall decor. Her winning door earned her class some ice cream treats.
