Nintendo Announces Fire Emblem Three Hopes

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is the latest Fire Emblem game on the Nintendo Switch. This game was announced on February 9th and will come out on June 24th, 2024. However, instead of the usual chess-format battles, players will be met with waves of enemies to hack and slash their way through.

Nogales High school senior Cesar Ramirez is excited about the new theme stating, “… the game will offer an entirely different experience and map for those who’ve played Fire Emblem: Three Houses.” It will both appeal to newer players while keeping older ones on the edge of their seats.

Being a Musou game, similar to games such as Persona 5 Strikers and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, it will entail constant fighting as the player takes out wave after wave of enemies– whether it be by sword, bow, lance, axe or even using their own two fists.

Players will take on these dangerous tasks as a character named Byleth– in the original game, the player was tasked with acting as a teacher for the students at Garreg Mach Monastery. Alongside Byleth, players can also play beloved characters such as the 3 house leaders: Edelgard, Dimitri and Claude.

In Polygon’s review of Fire Emblem: Three Houses, they described the game as “an epic war story on a Game of Thrones scale.” With a review like this, we can only expect something equally as great from its spin-off title.
