Varsity Softball Takes Another Win

Emma Rodriguez, Senior

On Thursday, April 7th, the Nogales varsity softball team played against Duarte High School at 3:30 and ultimately took the win.

The game was entertaining, as both teams were competitive throughout the whole game. Our Lady Nobles had really good defensive plays from both the outfield and infield. The shortstop of Nogales created a wonderful double play to get the team two outs during the top of the 6th. It is also worth mentioning how the Nogales pitcher threw an awesome game and held Durate until the end.

In regards to run production, the first base had effective hits including a double, single and hard grounder to short. During the bottom of the 2nd, bases were loaded and #21 on the team hit her first grand slam of the season. Overall, the girls hitting was solid and proved to be essential for the victory.

The final score of the game was 10-6 in favor of Nogales.

Freshman, Angelina Arcos expressed her gratitude to the whole team due to their collective effort: “Everyone did well today and I’m glad I can be on this team and be able to be friends with all the girls.”
